Speedboat Trip - (Written by Adam Gosselin)
Today after kayaking, the group and I went on a speedboat through the company Sturla Empresa de Navegacion back to Puerto Madero in Buenos Aires. There was so much to look at on our way.
Some facts that I learned on this trip, coming from our tour guide Sofia Guardone, the river (Lujan River) the group was on is the widest river in the world at an amazing 220 km! The river has created a delta (group of islands) that continues to grow. The reason why the delta grows and the water is darker is due to the sentiment that comes from Paraguay, that accumulates in the reeds. After multiple years the sentiments accumulate a large amount where people can build houses, schools, and small businesses.
I listened to a tour recording where I learned that even animals take up residence in the islands where there are some to little to no humans near them. Some other facts I learned about the islands as the group and I were passing them were the natives have their own communities. They go to elementary and high school from 10am to 2pm, but if they want to go to a University they would have to go to Argentina. The boat passed other multiple boats that, according to the recording, is the main way to travel in the delta. There are multiple boats that the natives use, for instance they have taxi boats, ambulances boats, and even supermarket boats.
Besides boats there were many houses that were small to large and even in glass. The one house that we saw that was in case is a ranch that is a historic landmark that is being protected from the elements. Besides the house in glass there was were others on the trip. When the group was looking at the houses we also saw people on jet skies, communities, and nature that would take your breath away.
Many students on this speedboat trip had an amazing time. Madison Gilibride said, "our time on the speed boat was a great, calming experience. After a long day of paddling out in the hot blazing sun, the relaxation of sitting under the boat and wind from the top of the speed boat was much needed. Overall, it was one of the best days full of fun." Tyler Mitchell said, "After can amazing day kayaking on the river, spending time with friends on the speedboat topped off the day." Kelly Jacobsen and Bridget Gomes said, "I still can't believe that this is a river. Never thought it could be so big and the view of the city was amazing."
This trip was indeed a great experience, from the sites to the knowledge we learned on the way. I cannot wait for what is in store for us on our next day here in Argentina. Hasta Luego!
The two captains and I on the boat steering this blog to you. All aboard!
Ready for an awesome ride!

Here is the river on this sunny day. It is brown from the sentiments.

A natives house that is surrounded by nature.
A house captured in time.
Besides houses, we saw people on jet skies, beautiful open water, and nature that is breathtaking.
Jet skier that has great moves on the jet ski.
