Hi blog-followers! Today (1/8/18) our team had 2 main activities! The first being the lecture
meetings with investing professionals at EY, and an agribusiness consultant.
Following this, we went onto the City Game!
There
were 10 locations we had to get to explore to gain the most points possible,
and the maximize the experiences in Buenos Aires! Traveling to La Boca,
Recoleta, and Retiro to round out the checkpoints!
Here
are some of our accomplishments below!
Shown
above are Nate, Alexander, and Liam at the steel flower.

This
was our first stop of the BA city game! We walked from our hotel to the UN
Square to take this gorgeous picture with this oversized metal flower! One of
our cab drivers today told us in 2002, this beautiful sculpture was a generous
gift from an Argentinian artist as gratitude for the opportunity to art study
here. The petals act just as real flowers do; they close at night, and open
during the day. There are a few exceptions take. On May 25th, September 21st,
December 24th and 31st, the flowers stay open on these days the whole day.
Our
next stop was at the Recoleta Cemetery, located just outside the “steel
flower”. We saw the incredible architecture that was put into these tombstone
houses- and we walked around for an hour just taking in it’s beauty!
Following our walk through the Recoleta Cemetery, we stopped at the historical Pillar Church. This was a very eye-opening thing to see, and paired nothing in comparison to my church at home!
One of our final stops was in La Boca. We witnessed this beautiful part of Buenos Aires, and got to really experience the what it is to live in this part of the city. We saw so many colorful houses, a waterfront, and museum-worthy street art on every corner! This stop was my personal favorite; the whole city was like a live art show, with people, music, and food all around.
We
saw El Caminito and got a great selfie with it!
My
team and I learned an incredible amount on this 7 hour adventure. Overcoming
language barriers, becoming more open-minded city slickers, and gathering
tidbits of cultural gold in the beautiful city of Buenos Aires. This will truly
be an experience that will not be forgotten.
