Amcham Presentation: By Jay Mudda

After a long day of immense activities yesterday, here came the last day with the last presentation before us. All of us longing to have a day of our own where we could just relax and have a day to explore the city of Chile. However, we had this interesting presentation to attend with Tatiana Molina who was introducing us to an in depth understanding of Chile not only as political or economical country but helping understand the culture of Chile on the whole. We had a great start when the students were offered a starting delicacy of nice coffee and snacks. After this we were introduced to the speaker who spoke to us about how Chile was a country in which every citizen was involved in making the country a better place. The presentation had a lot of topics that related to how Chile was turning to be a growing economy and the ways in which it was able achieve it's economical and political objectives. It started with introducing us to Chile and how the country ranked in its size, GDP and several other factors. We were informed how Chile was trying to make international integrations throughout it's history and in the present too. Chile was a country that had interest in having a global agreement/connection with several other countries etc. Furthermore, we were educated with how Chile contributed to the global economy and GDP. There were several factors such as: copper exports, food power which included exporting blueberries, frozen fishes, plums etc. We even learned how Chile helped in the investments made in the USA which was helpful in understanding the development in America as a country. The primary thing that I'm sure that we all learned through this presentation was how Chile really had a cultural diversity and how every citizen was looking in the best interest of the country's development and prosperity. One thing that honestly stole our hearts was the when Molina showed us how every citizen in Chile cared about each other in spite of however different every situation is. The explanation how every citizen had best interest in helping the 33 miners who got stuck during the mining crisis. This was honestly a take back for every person hearing the presentation. Personally, I feel like the presentation was interactive yet too long.

Here are some of the peers views on the presentation:

Adams Gosselin= The presentation was interesting and knowledge. Especially how Ms. Molina went in-depth about Chile and how the country functions as a whole and where it's going.

Arnav Vaid  = i was very interested in how, alongside development Chile is improving its environmental situation with multiple green initiatives.

Ailene Berry - the presentation on chiles economy helped give me a better perspective on the differences between the us and Chile economically
