Buenos Aires city game

January 8th was another day filled with many great activities! One activity that my classmates and I did was compete in the Buenos Aires cultural city game. We started off the afternoon by grabbing lunch at the Havanna cafe located down the street from our hotel. Along with lunch, my group purchased the five alfajor’s which fulfilled one requirement for the game. My classmate Tyler Mitchell got a white chocolate and jelly filled alfajor and said " This one is by far the best!" I also had the white chocolate jelly filled alfajor and agree with Tyler!
Wow, that is one big metal flower!

Next, while we were headed to cemetery we found our first Argentine wearing the national soccer team jersey! After taking a picture with him we continued to the cemetery. Once we arrived, we walked around to find Evita’s grave. After doing some extensive research and asking around we finally found it and took a sigh of relief. Our next destination was the Pilar Church, but before we got there everyone was in dire need of a water break. While we were getting water, we found another person wearing an Argentina national jersey!

Coincidentally, the church was down the road from the cemetery, so it did not take long to find. Right away Nathan Cullivan said, "This is one of the most beautiful Churches I have ever seen!" After a brief tour of the amazing architecture and taking a moment of silence inside the church ,we began our journey to the United Nations Square. Here we enjoyed the comfy chaise lounges and took another group photo next to the gigantic metallic flower! We learned that the flower opens when the sun begins to rise and closes when the sun sets!

Look, an Argentina soccer jersey!
Our journey continued and we decided to take a taxi to La Boca where we sat down to rest with another group to recap on our day so far.  Classmate Nick Blonder Said "This City game was a great way to explore the entire city!" After taking in the beautiful scenery of the bright and vibrant homes in “El Caminito,” we took another taxi to Plaza Dorrego where we saw antique shops and other local stores.  The antique shops were filled with everything from jewelry to kitchenware.

Proceeding on with the game, the next stop was Plaza de Mayo, which was only a short walk from Plaza Dorrego. During this walk everyone began to talk about what our next meal should be. After taking group pictures in front of the pyramid, it was decided to finally end the day and grab dinner before parting ways. My group and I enjoyed dinner at Cervelar with another group of classmates. Everyone began to talk about their experience an reflect on today's adventure.

Overall, the cultural city game was exhausting, but the experience and memories I had with my classmates were truly amazing and definitely a highlight that we will all remember from this trip.
